Our Babydoll Sheep
Minis 'N Friends' flock of Babydoll Southdown sheep in Nebraska has one BSRA & NABSSAR registered ram, seven dual registered registered ewes with BSRA and NABSSAR, three BSRA registered ewes, and four unregistered ewes. At this time registered lambs will come with BSRA paperwork. If you want dual registration with NABSSAR (on those lambs which are able to be dual registered), there will be an additional fee of $25. All of our adult sheep come running for treats when called and though we can't easily catch and halter all of them we can hand feed them all. We love their smiling faces and chubby bodies. Check out our "Fun Pictures" page to see some cute images of our Babydolls.
Babydolls are raised for their wool, as pets, weed eaters, and for meat. Vineyards and orchards are using them to control the weeds around their fruit plants. They work great because they are so short. We use ours as natural mowers in our corrals, around our farm outbuildings, and even in our yard. While we are not spinners, we have found some inventive ways of using their wool, such as mulch and insulation.
As breeders we are striving for a small stout sheep that is hardy and low maintenance for care and we are continuing to bring in new bloodlines to keep our flock genetically diverse. We lamb each year around the 1st of April, see our For Sale page for available animals.

They will have the Babydoll hardiness and ability to fatten on air. For several of them we know their lineage and they are out of registered stock on one side.
